MYSTICAL KISS
This painting is a happy whimsical mix of Klimt, Renaissance and fashion designer Mary Quant …This painting was not really planned. It just seemed to pop out of my head. When Robert Parker (Parcus Galley, Austria) saw it, he said , « I want it to go to Le Louvre, le Carrousel in October 2024 »….. so it is going to be shown in Paris. I am so excited! Come and see it along with another of my paintings on 18-20th October 2024!

TIMIDITY
Seeing a young couple in the park, they made me think of this: He was bolder and trying to seduce this timid young lady. They were gorgeously beautiful, both of them. After a while of calmly talking ‘sweet nothings’ or perhaps telling her that he loved her (?) , she turned and smiled…. His world lit up!

THE BEAUTY OF BEING LOVED
This statement painting is a homage of being loved.
For me, a forever romantic, being in love is like being entwined and looking in the same direction, understanding each other and living a vibrant life. I have used powerful colours with a papyrus, woven, silver background. If you move around the painting you will see designs showing through the layers of paint. Each time you move, you will discover this painting in a different way. A bit like every day, which is different.

SWEET BABY
Noticing that baby birds have larger heads, I wanted to create a sweet little baby bird ( or at least a very young bird) Imagination is a wonderful thing and when I look into the eye of this bird I think, the eye shows the depth of the soul. And gives the illusion that the head could be either way up abit like the Mona Lisa eyes that follow you when you mive round her.

GOLDEN BRAVE HEART
A brave heart, a heart of gold, are phrases I like. To combine these, I have painted a Golden Heart. When I expressed my wish to superpose a canvas frame onto a wooden base, I was told, ‘nobody does that!’ Now that was like having a red flag waved in front of a bull… I set about creating this double layered painting straight away. It has been framed with a gold frame to set off the brave golden heart and show off my fascination for the black papyrus effect background. I started painting on wood when I was Jeffrey Pratt’s assistant in the UK. He taught me to be brave and believe in myself, following my own path.

WHITE DEER
White Deer. Near Amboise, a beautiful Renaissance town in France, where I live, there are many wild deer. In 2021 a much whiter deer appeared in the forest. Just a glimpse was enough to be unforgettable, I had to capture the elegant image of this wonderful beast. This is a smaller box framed canvas painting bursting with Renaissance color…and elegance.

TAMING A GOOSE
Geese can be very noisy birds but so graceful! It is very rewarding if you can tame a goose. Patience and gentleness are needed. A feeling of wellbeing overcomes me when I realize the goose has put its trust in me. I painted an elegant elaborate dress to contrast with the bird’s simple and pure beauty. THE FLOWERY MESS
I had planned to paint a lovely bouquet of spring flowers. Nicely set out, very neat. Then, I turned on the radio. The news. The world is a mess! I refuse to paint a mess, so I painted the flowers in a way that corresponds to the news of March 2024: higgledy-piggledy with a woven gold edge that sums up politics in this case…forever entwined with gold knotted into the politics….The result was a burst of flowers on a background that seemed quite organised. There are simple things in life that comfort us, like flowers. Enjoy!
